1/27/06—Podcasting: Because Markets Really Are Conversations
Published January 8th, 2006 in Author-ized AppearancesAs many of you know, I started “smoking the podcast dope” in May of 2005, and by September, after contracting a bad case of earbud isolationism, had co-founded the world’s first Podcast Asylum.
On January 27th, I’m going to try to cram the whole presentation below into my 15 minutes on the “Virtual Marketing Magnets” panel at the Bay Area Consulting Network meeting. I promise to have good handouts and fun slides and audio.
Podcasting: Because Markets Really Are Conversations

Why is “podcast” the Oxford American Dictionary’s Word of the Year for 2005? Podcasts—MP3 audio files you can subscribe to online and download automatically—are a great new tool for businesses large and small. You can join in conversations about your area of expertise, or start one of your own. Showcase your expertise, build your brand, and let prospects get to know you before they ever meet you. Reach targeted audiences in your niche and attract pre-qualified prospects. Finally, a way to get your clients to listen to what you tell them!
