Join Me at Podcamp West
Published November 5th, 2006 in Author-ized Appearances, New MediaI just learned about Podcamp West a week ago. Naturally I volunteered to speak. I’ll be giving a 30-minute presentation on “What the heck is podcasting and why should we care about it?” I’m not sure yet what time I’ll be speaking; the nature of podcamps and the “bar camps” from which they descend is that they’re organized organically (funny, I never noticed the relationship between those words before) and are very informal.
The other thing about them is that they’re free to attend, though donations and sponsors are both welcomed. You do need to register in advance, as the venue can only hold so many people. If you’re a podcaster or someone with podcasting expertise, you too can volunteer to speak.
Podcamp West is organized through a system called PBWiki. If you’re not familiar with editing a wiki, don’t worry. Just follow the same coding/formatting tricks used by the people who registered before you did, and you’ll be fine. (At least, it worked for me.)
