PodCamp West Recording
Published November 19th, 2006 in Author-ized Appearances, New Media
I’m not finished with the presentation page yet, but meanwhile here’s the recording of my part of the “Up and Running with Podcasting” panel on 11/18/06. I recorded it on my little iriver IFP 795 and haven’t done any editing except to isolate my segment. Apologies for the rustling papers–that mic is sensitive!
So far PodCamp West is chaotic but fun. The setting in the Swedish American Hall is a distinct contrast to the subject matter, as you can see from the carved thrones for the panelists. I must have been looking up at the balcony when this picture was taken. Stefan swiped it from Flickr, so I can’t give credit (or blame, for that matter) to the photographer.

Hi Sallie Goetsch
I am amaze with the technology at this page. I am a newbie.
Questions:
1) Does it cost to have a personalized mast-head like the one you have at this blog? How did you do it.
2) Is it difficult to podcast on a blog. How?
Thanks

1) I did the masthead myself so I didn’t have to pay someone else for it. You find the image that the theme is using for the masthead and make a new one the same size, or just insert an image with the appropriate dimensions. If you need someone else to do the design or alter the theme for you, that will cost money.
2) It’s pretty easy on a WordPress blog with the PodPress plugin. See this tutorial for more details. For more on podcasting in general, check out Podcasting for Dummies or one of the many other books on the subject.
